KCP Poirei warns local clubs

The banned armed group, Kangleipak Communist Party Poirei Meitei Lup has warned the local clubs and organizations not to cooperate with the Mela organizers, who came to Manipur to make easy money.
In a statement, the outfit said that Mela promotes the handloom and handicraft products as well optimizing opportunity for youths.
However, the manner of conducting Mela in the state is totally different from others. Instead of showcasing the ready local products to buyers, Mela goers are encouraged to play gambling and other forms of betting. Around 95 percent of exhibitors and buyers loss in Mela while the organizers makes hefty profit.
It also warned the concerned authority not to give permission to organize Mela by outsiders and control betting at Mela premise.
