Imphal, June 12: Armed group Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) Poirei meitei Lup today said that the arrest of 5 KSA volunteers for checking adulteration of Tata Salt, an edible item and letting free of those involved in the adulteration of the edible food item is nothing but to conceal the truth about the appointment of 9 staffs who did not fulfilled the RR for appointment to the post by Okram Ibobi Sing led Congress Government.
In a press statement, Publicity Secretary of the outfit, Malemnganba Meetei said that, the five KSA volunteers were arrested to conceal the truth and protect the 9 staffs who had been appointed as Food Safety Officers at the Directorate of health Services Manipur by violating the RR for appointment to the post.
It said that the many people of the state had become of the victim of the adulterated food produced by the traders. When the outfit investigated about the matter under operation Mangaal, it has been found out that beside the appointment of the nine staffs who did not fulfill the rules and regulations for the post , the congress government under the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh is collecting huge amount of money from those traders responsible to the adulteration of the edible food items.
In India, in order to check the adulteration of edible food and its standard Food Safety and Standard Act 2006 Rules and regulation 2011 has been passed. Under the Act the state government too had established a Food Safety and Standard Wing , however as the Ibobi government had appointed the 9 staffs who do not touch the RR, they have failed to render their duty to check the poisonous food that had been adulterated and also those edible food items of sub-standard quality.
The armed group stated that the attitude of the government is irresponsible and arrest of the 5 KSA volunteers is considered serious instead of arresting those responsible to the adulteration of food and also to those who are meant to check the rising adulteration in the edible food.
