Imphal, Feb 3:
The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and its military wing, the KCP/MFL, paid a revolutionary tribute to the martyrs who had laid down their lives in the defense of Manipur. In a statement issued by S. Mangal, Secretary-in-Charge of Information & Publicity, KCP stated that on January 27, Capt. Chiromcha, 2nd Lt. Henthoiba, and Pvt. Athouba had fought bravely on the battlefield, resisting enemy forces with unwavering determination. The statement mentioned that they had sacrificed their lives while defending Manipur/Kangleipak against the advancing Myanmar troops.
According to KCP, the three fallen fighters had been part of the united revolutionary forces of Manipur and had confronted a proxy war waged by KNA(B) and its allies, allegedly backed by India, in an attempt to suppress the revolutionary movement.
As a mark of respect, the statement further noted that on January 30, RPF/PLA’s 2nd Lt. Salam Henthoiba from Komnao Makha Leikai, UNLF/MPA’s Capt. Chirom Chiromcha alias Robindro from Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai, and KYKL/MYL’s Pvt. Moirangthem Sunil alias Athouba from Sugnu Awang Leikai were honoured with a befitting tribute. The KCP/MFL described them as an inspiration, emphasizing that their sacrifice in the battle for Manipur’s sovereignty would be remembered.
The statement added that KCP/MFL had carried out a symbolic gun salute at the location where the three had fallen, reaffirming its commitment to continuing the revolutionary struggle. It stressed that their sacrifices represented a significant loss to the liberation movement but would serve as a guiding force for future revolutionaries.
KCP/MFL expressed confidence that the resistance would grow stronger as various revolutionary groups united in the struggle. It also urged the people of Manipur to uphold the legacy of the fallen comrades and contribute to strengthening the revolutionary cause in every possible way.
