Kangleipak Nursing College hosts 14th Lamp Lighting Ceremony

The 14th Lamp Lighting Ceremony of the Medical & Nursing Institute under Khongnangthaba University was held on Friday at the institute’s campus in Khurai Konsam Leikai, Paonam Leirak, Imphal East District. The ceremony was graced by Prof. N. Joykumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Khongnangthaba University, Kh. Ratna Devi, Director of Nursing, and Dr. K. Gunabanta Singh, Medical Superintendent of Biren Hospital, Chingarel.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the first lamp by Th. Joyshree Devi, Principal of the institute, symbolizing the commitment of future doctors and nurses to their noble profession.
In his address, Prof. N. Joykumar Singh, the Chief Guest, highlighted the upcoming inauguration of a dedicated university hospital, aimed at enhancing practical learning environments for nursing students. He emphasized the promising career opportunities in nursing and the university’s role in providing job avenues.
Kh. Ratna Devi, in her speech, spoke enthusiastically about the growth and recognition of the nursing program. Dr. K. Gunabanta Singh, the Guest of Honour, stressed the importance of maintaining high healthcare standards. The ceremony concluded with emotive speeches, thanksgiving, and a closing song, celebrating the values of Florence Nightingale and the future of healthcare education at the university.
