Kakching Wairi road closed indefinitely

Thoubal, July 28: Government failure listen the demand for repairing of Labango Pareng Road in between Kakching Keithel and Kakching Wairi in Thoubal district had prompted locals of the area to close the road stretch indefinitely from today by constructing fences.
The road stretch is the lifeline of Kakching Wairi people as it is the only way leading to Kakching Keithel. On the other hand the road is also an important route where Kakching Mantak Village, Kha Manipur Collage, Kakching, Padma Ratna English School, Kakching Public School, Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kakching etc can be reached from Kakching Keithel.
Even though the road is under the purview of the Kakching Municpal Council, it is under the jurisdiction of Wabagai Assembly constituency and people of both Kakchng Wairi and Wabagai have been depending to this road. Locals of the area while urging both the MLAs of Kakching and Wabagai Assembly constituencies to repair it at the earliest possible time, threatens series of agitations.
