Kakching initiates Tree Plantation Drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Kenaam’ Campaign

A tree plantation drive was conducted today as a part of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Plant 4 Mother’ campaign at the Kakching DC Office Complex. The event was coordinated by Rohit Anand, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kakching and was attended by the officials of Kakching District Administration.
M. Kapajit Singh, MCS, ADC Kakching, Anunay Anand, IAS, AC to DC Kakching, O. Sandhyarani Devi, MCS, AC to DC Kakching, A. Nirmalkumar Sharma, EE (RD &PR Cell) Kakching, amongst others from the district administration took part in the tree plantation drive. The plantation drive saw the planting of a variety of saplings, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and celebrating the nurturing spirit of motherhood.
It was launched as part of a nationwide environmental campaign called ‘Ek Ped Maa KeNaam’ which translates to ‘A Tree in the Name of Mother’. The basic idea is that trees are essential for keeping ecological balance in check, which will go on to benefit the next generation with a healthier existence.
