Kakching district observes 133rd Patriots’ Day

The District Administration Kakching observed the 133rd Patriots’ Day at the DC Office Complex, Kakching today. Rohit Anand, Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, alongside Moirangthem Kapajit Singh, ADM Kakching and other District Level Officials paid floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General, the brave hearts of the soil who laid down their lives while fighting against the British Empire in 1891.
Patriots’ Day is observed on August 13 every year, to commemorates the sacrifices made by the people of Manipur in their fight against British colonial rule to honour the bravery and martyrdom of Bir Tikendrajit Singh and Thangal General, who were executed by the British on August 13, 1891, for their roles in the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891.
As part of the observance of Patriots’ Day observance in Kakching district today, a social service was carried out within the premises of the DC Office Complex, Kakching, followed by a tree plantation drive. Various saplings were planted within the complex of DC Office, led by DC Rohit Anand and accompanied by other district officials.
Apart from it, full dress rehearsal for the 78th Independence Day, 2024 was conducted at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Kakching district today.
