Counsel of Sapam Robinhood, Khaidem Mani today submitted the statement of the victim’s family to the Commission of Inquiry conducted by Retd. Justice Mutum Binoy Kumar Singh. The commission of enquiry was set up after a mass uprising over the killing of Sapam Robinhood by Manipur Police during ILP protest at Imphal East. The hearing will continue tomorrow.
The hearing was held at State Guest House at Sanjenthong in the presence of the commission’s chairperson Justice (retired) Mutum Binoy Kumar. Counsel S Lakhikanta, victim’s counsel Khaidem Mani, JAC members and Ananda higher secondary students were present during the hearing.
It may be mentioned that the commission was constituted on August 21, 2015 and began hearing from October 5 of 2015. The last statement of witness was submitted on 16 of January 2016 and conducted spot inquiry on 22 January 2016.
