JNIMS staffs campaigning for mass resignation

Teachers, nurses and non –teaching staff of JN Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal are preparing for a mass resignation as the prolonged protest by the Teachers’ Association, Train Nurses Association, and the Associations of All Non-teaching staffs had been sidelined by the state government.
The three bodies of the JNIMS had been demanding the implementation of the 7th Pay. The protest has severely affected the academic activities of the students as the teachers’ association has canceled all academic activities in the institute from March 29 to April 4, while the Nurses’ stages sit-in-demonstration , without affecting the health care services.
As the protest gave no effect to the government the employees of the Institution are preparing for mass resignation and the campaign for the resignation is in full swing, a source said.
Moreover, a press statement by the Teachers’ Association said that all the teachers, nurses and the staff of JNIMS are feeling utter neglected by the authority, hence they may be tendering resignation letters from JNIMS anytime in the near future. However, the TA didn’t mention the exact date they are going to tender resignation.
This may affect the health service facilities to the common people as earlier agitation restrain any disturbances to the health care service to a patient.
The TA statement said that the three associations are worried about the inconveniences which may ensue to the general public because of this and seek an apology in advance.
