A memorandum jointly signed by the Pradhans of Borobekra GP and Jakuradhor GP of Jiribam have been submitted to Dr. Harmit Singh Pahuja, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam requesting non-withdrawal of 7th IRB Camp situated at Jakuradhor. The memorandum, submitted on the 17th July 2014 cited various reasons for the demand, prominent among them being that the 7th IRB camp deployed at Jakuradhor is the one and only security camp providing security of the adjacent Borobekra PS as well as the vast area encircled, that the communal harmony, peace and tranquility have been maintained by the presence of the camp, and that reports of the possible withdrawal of the camp have instilled a sense of insecurity and helplessness amongst the people in the area. It was also reported that a protest was staged by the people in the area in front of the Borobekra PS from 7am to 7 pm against the withdrawal of the camp on the day the memorandum was submitted. It is also learnt from reliable source that the ADC has also written to the Principal Secretary (Home) regarding the matter.
