Jiribam, July 5
In a bid to re-establish peace in Jiribam District, a forum called the “Jiribam District Reconciliation Forum” has been formed. The forum was officially announced by Methiu Kamei, the Spokesperson, in a media interaction today.
Kamei stated that the forum was created with the aim of bringing back the friendly environment in Jiribam. The district has maintained peace for the past year, but unfortunately, this long-lasting peace was disrupted in the previous month, leading to mass destruction of lives and properties.
The forum is comprised of 22 members from different communities in Jiribam, appointed with the advice of the District Administration. P.K. Das has been assigned as the Convenor, while Pausing Kamei and Faij Ahmed have been appointed as Co-convenors.
The primary objective of the Jiribam District Reconciliation Forum is to facilitate discussions and deliberations with communities from both sides affected by the recent conflict, in order to reconcile and restore peace in the district.
