Janata Dal (United), Manipur State Unit today in a press meet said that it is going to submit a memorandum to the Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari to draw his attention to establish Highway Protection Force.
Addressing media during the press meet held at its office located at Babupara, M. Tombi, president of JD(U), Manipur State Unit said that JD(U) has kept on insisting the government to establish Highway Protection Force in order to prevent various crimes on national highways of the country. However, the previous governments did not pay a heed of it. He added that he is going to meet the Union Minister of Transport in February to urge him on the matter.
During the press meet he also said that three national leaders of JD(U) namely Krishna Paul, Union Minister of State for Industries, Ram Shanghar Kathoria, Minister of Human Resource and Development, T Awarchand Goloth, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment will be visiting the North East India shortly.
