President of Janata Dal (United), Manipur N. Tombi today demanded clarification from the Union Government on the issue of Cease-Fire extension before the by election of Hiyanglam A/C..In a press meet held today at the office of JD (U) at Babupara, N. Tombi said that there is a confusion with the territorial limit of Cease-Fire between NSCN (IM) and Central Government as the interlocutor of the Union Government said that the Cease-Fire is not extended in Manipur whereas NSCN (IM) claimed that Cease-Fire is extended in Manipur. He also appealed to the Union Government to provide whitepaper in this regard the by poll.He also drew the attention of the Union Government for timely implementation of the development work of National Highway 37 which is included in Prime Minister’s 100 days program.N. Tombi further said that NSCN (IM) is still continuing extorting money, building their camps and other illegal activities in the state.During the press meet he also said that JD (U) will not produce their candidate in the forthcoming by-election. However, it will support a secular political party in the by election.
