JCILPS (students’ wing) suggests reduction of fees for students, appeals for public participation of last rites of Robinhood

JCILPS (students’ wing) organized a press meet today at the head office of All Manipur Student Union, (AMSU), DM College Campus in connection with the last rite of Sapam Robinhood, killed during the agitation demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur. Convener of the JCILPS student wing Nandababu said that the last rite of Sapam Robinhood will be conducted at Awa hill of Imphal East. He further added that people of the state including students and teachers from various section will gather at Modern College ground and a mass rally will commence from there to collect the death body of Sapam Robinhood from JNIMS morgue and will continue to his birth place at Lairikyengbam Leikai after which the rally will proceed to Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy of Nongmeibung where Sapam Robinhood pursued his study and then march on for Awa Ching.
The convener further appealed to the public to participate in the last rite of the Sapam Robinhood including transport associations, government and private institutions, and to honor Sapam Robinhood.
Representatives of All Manipur Recognized Private Schools Welfare Association, Private Development Council, Thoubal and All Manipur School Student Transport Association were also present at the press meet held today.
Co-convener of Joint Students’ Coordinating Committee, Sanasam Subashchandra announced that schools will reopen from September 4. He further declared that students who missed their schools for almost 2 months will have to pay 5o% of the van service fee and only 30 % as monthly school fee to their schools for the two months of the total amount and the school authority to provide 50% of the salary of the school teachers for the months of July and August. He further revealed that the decision of reduction of fees was taken after a discussion with All Manipur Recognized Private Schools Welfare Association and All Manipur School Student Transport Association. He further appealed to the Mission Schools and CBSE Schools to follow the decision and to accept the meeting arranged with the Joint Students Co Coordinating Committee.
