Joint Committee on Inner Line permit System (JCILPS), which is spear heading the peoples’ movement for implementation of a Inner Line Permit System in the state is in no mood to meet the government as people of the state could not trust the ruling government.
Speaking to Imphal Times, Convenor –in- charge of the JCILPS, Kh. Ratan said that the JCILPS is only steering the peoples’ agitation and unless the government built a trust mechanism for the people of the state, the committee will not enter into any talk or discussion on the issue with the government.
When asked about the condition to talk with the government Ratan said that the JCILPS had already put up their demands to call a special session of the state assembly within 15 days and to award befitting punishment to the police personnel involved in the Killing of Sapam Robinhood during a mass protest on July 8.
Ratan further said that media report about CLP meeting does not clearly mention about the present issue and the committee is confused to the statement of the Deputy Home Minister when he said that the CLP meeting was resolved in consideration to the all political party meeting.
“What does the All Political Party stands for to this issue of the people?” Ratan asked. He added that the government had not sent any written assurance regarding the matter.
