JCILPS agitation turn violent on the 2nd day

2nd day of the 38 hours cease work agitation called by the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) turns violent today as supporters and police confronted at various area.
Supporters brave the incessant rain and came out in the street stopping any sort of vehicular movement. At many places in Imphal area large numbers of people were seen staging protest shouting slogans for implementation of ILPS.
Report reaching here said that at around noon large number of people including meira paibies and JCILPS supporters came in group marching towards Keishampat bridge from Takhelliekai area.
Police posted at Keishampat Junction confronted the agitators and asked them to return. However, as the agitators continue to march the police fired rounds of tear gas shell to disperse the agitators.
The agitators were driven till hodam leirak area by the police team by firing around 15 rounds of tear has shells. At the time of filing this report there are no report of any casualties or injury but reporters who witness the whole scene suggested some injury among the agitators.
At SIngjamei area too, large number people march towards Singjamei shouting slogans for implementation of the ILPS.
Police posted at Chingamakhong stopped the protestors using iron barricades.
The protest was hostile at Uripok area, as the people of the area are putting up additional demand for action against the male police officer who had assaulted a meira paibi. The meira paibi Tarini went fast unto death protest but was detained by the police under preventive custody.
