Volunteers of Join Co-ordination Committee On Wildlife and Biodiversity (JCCWB) Manipur had rescued one more Slow Loris and set it free after giving treatment for 11 days.
The Slow Loris was found entering the house of one Thangjam Sandip of Yairipok Kekru in Thoubal district on June 7. After informing to the JCCWB, the volunteers of the Committee along with the DFO of Thoubal Forest Division, Th Lokendra rescued the Slow Loris. The animal was set free after its condition was safe at Gwarok reserved forest.
Earlier, a person identified as Chingkham Sundar Singh, s/o Chingkham Nongyai Singh of Yairipok Top Chintha had rescued Slow Loris which he found on the roadside on June 4.
Appreciating the act, Chief Minister N Biren handed over a cash award of Rs 5000 through the Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division of Mantripukhri.
