Imphal, Nov 21: Ambassador of Japan to India Kenji Hiramatsu and Chief Minister of Chin State, Myanmar, U Salai Luai today attended the inaugural function of the Manipur’s grand tourism festival – the Sangai festival at BOAT at Palace compound.
Governor of Manipur Dr. Najma Heptulla , Chief Minister of Manipur Okram Ibobi and Dyputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, President and Guest of honour respectively.
Unlike last year, this year’s Sangai Festival witness less popularity with less publicity by the concern department. The demonetization of the Rs. 500 and Rs 1000 denominations is also affecting the Festival as people seem to be more concerned with exchange of their money.
