While expressing suspect over the content of the Indo-NSCN (IM) peace accord leader of Indigenous People’s Association of Kangleipak (IPAK), Sapam Cha Jadumani has stated that Central government’s proposal to consult with the people of Manipur and Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh indicates that there is something wrong with the agreement.
Speaking to media persons at a press conference at state BJP office here today, Jadumani said that the agreement might have affected the territorial integrity of the state of Manipur even if the Centre assured to respect the sentiments of the people of Manipur by not disturbing the boundary of the state.
The Centre treats Manipur in a step motherly attitude in all aspect. The Nagaland that was once a part of Assam became state of India on 1 December 1963 while Manipur got statehood later in 1972.
IPAK along with BJP Manipur has jointly drafted a memorandum in the matter of Framework Accord between the NSCN (IM) and Government of Manipur. The memorandum will be submitted to the Prime Minister on 26, August.
State BJP President Th Chaoba also said that BJP central leaders will never distort the integrity of the state.
