JACs should endeavour to bring out the truth: Kumam Kameshor

Imphal, July 26: A press meet was organised at the Manipur Press Club today by the JAC against suspected murder of H. Nirupama. Speaking to the media, General Secretary of the JAC said that death of Nirupama cannot be ruled out as suicide as there is a strong suspicion of foul play. It may be recalled that H. Nirupama (37), D/o Babu Singh (66), from Moirang Kumam Leikai has been working at a hospital as a nurse alongwith her husband Nitin Kumar Konjengbam, S/o Mani of Singjamei Chingamakhong who is also a male nurse. She was reportedly found hanging at their rented place at Kolkata on July 9, and was ascertained as a suicide case. The JAC, denying the report, states that there has been cases of frequent domestic fights between the couple, and a case has been registered at the Garfa PS in Kolkata, and reports of the autopsy is still awaiting. Meanwhile Nitin Kumar, husband of the victimis presently under police custody. Kumam Kameshor, General Secretary of the JAC also appealed to the JACs being formed in the state to refrain from giving up their demands for justice in consideration for monetary benefits which will degrade the sanctity of the JACs.
