Imphal, May 18: Demanding to punish the police personal who allegedly beat up Tourangbam ongbi Tarini Devi of Uripok Sorbon Thingel on May 8, JAC formed in connection with the incident has imposed indefinite road block along the road from today morning 5.
A large number of people convulse near Uripok over bridge and Ibotonsana Higher Secondary Scholl. They blocked the roads by burning woods and tyres disrupting movement of vehicles.
In protest against the incident, womenfolk of the area have been staging sit-in-protest at Uripok Sorbon Thingel Leirak Machin since May 8.
The JAC has also submitted memorandums to Chief Minister and Home Minister of the state pressing the authority to find the Manipur Police Commando Personnel who reportedly beaten up Taruni during a torch rally in support of the demand for ILPS in Manipur.
The JAC also warned to intensity their agitation if the concern authority failed to take immediate action against the police personnel.
Mention may be made that the lady Tourangbam Tarini has been detain in preventive custody of the police as she continue her fast-unto-death after her released. She began the protest after she was assaulted brutally by a male police for staging protest under the aegis of the JCILPS.
