The death body of Athokpam Bina (20) D/o A Biren of Serou Makha Leikai will be handed over to the family today. The decision was taken after the Chief Minister assured the arrest and punishment of the guilty person according to the law to the JAC.
One of the family members said that the Chief Minister assure that the main accused Naorem Narendra (boyfriend of Bina) S/o N.Nanaoyai of Khongjom Patpan will be formally arrested and interrogated after he is discharged from the hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment due to injuries sustained when irate locals assaulted him.
It may be mentioned that the deceased was reportedly called out of her home on the night of September 3 by the accused and her dead body found on the bank of Serou river the next morning.
