Thousands of devotees, especially from Assam and Manipur, thronged Khwairakpa Erel Umanglai Nongpok Ningthou Khuvam (formerly known as Narayan dhor) to offer their prayers at the sacred shrine located on a small island in Barak River, Lakhipur Cachar, Assam on Sunday.
Devotees from various places of Manipur and Cachar District, Assam reached the sacred shrine through the Waterway of Barak River from Fulerthol, Cachar and from Jiri Mukh, Jiribam.
Jiribam District Police provided arrangement of motorboats to the devotees for the ease of access to the shrine from Jiri Mukh.
Speaking to media person Ngangbam Niranjan, President, KEUNL, Assam said for the easy accessible of devotees to the shrine of Khwairpa Erel Umanglai Nongpok Ningthou Khuvam, the Superintendent of Police, Jiribam Mubi Moirangthem took immense responsibility, for which the organising committee expressed gratitude for it.
He also expressed gratitude to L. Veerjeet Singh, Spokesperson BJP Manipur Pradesh for his visits to the shrine by leading a team of distinguished personalities of Manipur.

Veerjeet Singh, Spokesperson BJP Manipur Pradesh said when we discussed the civilization of Manipur, seven year devastation was one of the epochs, during which the kings of Manipur fled and took shelter here and again rebellion to get back the throne of Manipur. The place where we have visited today is remarkable and related with the history of Manipur.
The visits to Khwairakpa Erel Umanglai Nongpok Ningthou Khuvam gives us an opportunity to meet with Meitei brethren who were scattered and settled at different parts of Assam and Tripura as well as gives a message of reunion and all of us need to take the responsibility for the reconstruction of this place, Veerjeet added.
