The Information Service Television Network (ISTV) celebrated its 21st Foundation Day today at the Manipur Press Club. MLA L. Rameshwor graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while ISTV Network President BK Meitei presided over it. The President of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU), Bijoy Kakchingtabam, also attended as a Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rameshwor highlighted the role being played by the ISTV network in educating the people. He mentioned that the various programs broadcasted on ISTV have brought wisdom to the people. The news and discussion programs are indeed eye-openers for the people. He wished the ISTV network team to continue their service without fear.
The Information Service Television Network (ISTV) is one of the largest cable TV networks in Manipur. The service has even reached Senapati, Ukhrul, and almost all districts in the Valley of Manipur.
The Vice President of the ISTV Network stressed the challenges faced in running the network, which has over 10 local channels. He mentioned that advancements in technology, such as the internet and Jio service, are big obstacles for the network. However, he also mentioned that the ISTV team is not losing hope, as they are continuously upgrading their technology.
On the occasion, panelists of the ISTV discussion hour, reporters, and cameramen were honored.
