Issue of Arms License to follow stricter protocol

Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India has issued instructions for observing stricter rules while making assessment of threat perception for issuing Arms Licenses. According to a reliable source, a letter from the Home Ministry instructing for assessment of threat perception of applicants of Arms Licenses to be made by the DM/ DC in consultation with the agencies/ authorities to be made as deemed proper. The letter further clarifies that mere certification from Officer-in-Charge of Police Station concerned does not justify threat perception of the applicant and that the threat perceptions should be substantiated and report the action taken to Home Department.
