Irate customers vandalize SBI Leimakhong branch

Imphal, Nov 28: At around the same time when customers at SBI MU branch has been creating ruckus over withdrawal of money, customers of another SBI Branch at Leimakhong today vandalize the bank office for bias  attitude of the bank staffs.
Report said that civilian customers of the SBI Leimakhong branch were allowed to withdraw a sum of rupees 2000 each and following that many had been on queue for withdrawal of the money. However, some of the army personnel who came from the Leimakhong Army Head quarter were allowed to withdraw an amount of Rs. 10000/-. Sooner the announcement was made the civilian customer protested and demanded equal treatment to all customers. A team of police from Sapermeina police station who rushed to the spot to control the situation allegedly threatened the civilian customer showing their service weapon. The attitude of the police personnel had fueled the anger of the civilian customers and poured their anger by vandalizing the office of the Bank. Many properties were destroyed in the mob action.
