Irabot Foundation Manipur submits memorandum to PM and CM

Irabot Foundation Manipur had submitted memorandum to the Prime Minister of India and the Chief Minister of Manipur urging for implementation of the recommendation adopted during a Farmer’s meet organized on December 8, 2021 at MDU Hall on the topic “Agriculture Market Police of Manipur”.
The 18 points resolution adopted during the hour long meeting are formulation of farmers’ Agricultural Market Policy in Manipur, Protection of Agricultural land by even reinstating the land diverted and acquired in their original form, ensuring of land to the landless farmers, land use police for the whole of the state, prohibition of unsustainable development project such as mining , large dam construction, oil exploration, agri–business plan, industries etc that involved force acquisition of land of farmers, improvement of roads in rural and interior areas of Manipur to ensure market access for agriculture and allied products, ensuring Minimum support price for farmers , establishment of Market facility including storage facilities for agro-forestry facilities for native crops,
setting up of low cost cold storage and post harvesting technology to preserve agro and allied products , preserving of indigenous and traditional seeds, ensuring irrigation facilities to farmers by finding out the failed canals , free education to children of farmers affected by Covid-19 Pandemic for the year 2022, ensuring compensation for farmers affected by Covid -19 and related lockdown, declaration of Manipur as Organic State by 2024, ensuring positive measures to be taken up to address the impact of the Climate change on indigenous agriculture and increased pattern of disaster such as drought and flood , waving off of loans for farmers and ensuring to end all form of corruptions , nepotism, favouritism, manipulation etc. in implementing Government Schemes related to farmers and allied sectors.
The Irabot Foundation Manipur urged both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister to make sure that the resolution adopted during the farmers’ meet be converted into reality.
