International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has demanded appropriate wages for labourers working in Food Cooperation of India store house.
Briefing media at its office, Keishampat on Saturday, President of IPSA Joychandra Konthoujam informed that labourers working in FCI store house Jiribam has approached IPSA that their daily wages are not at par with the minimum wages of the present day, and demanded a minimum wages of rupees 4 for lifting a bag of rice which will be at par with the labourers in FCI Imphal.
He further said that labourers working in Jiribam received a monthly income of about Rs. 3000 which is not sufficient to manage a family and further appealed the contractors of FCI to increase the daily wage of the FCI labourers in Jiribam.
