IPAK condemns disruption of Indigenous peoples’ rally by Bangladeshi refugees

Imphal, Aug 25: Indigenous Peoples of Kangleipak (IPAK) today relayed strong condemnation to yesterday clashed at Tripura where around 20 indigenous people of the state were left with serious injury after Bangladeshi refugees attacked them while organising a peaceful demonstration.
Speaking to the media person at its office of Wahengleikai here in Imphal today, chairman of IPAK Sapamcha Jadumani said that Tripura was a sovereign nation like Manipur before it merged to the Indian union. However, after merger to the Indian Union, Tripura was dominated by the Bangladeshi refugee and the indigenous people of the state become minority.  
Jadumani further said that in the rally organised by Indigenous People Front of Tripura(IPFT) demanding  for the protection of indigenous people of the state of Tripura majority Bangladeshi refugees disrupted and violence broke out injuring dozens of men and women.
He further added that India union has failed to make law to protect indigenous people specially North East region and India government has remained a silent spectators when indigenous people is fading away its existence slowly.
