Manipur today observe International Mother language day at various places of the state.
In an observance function held at MDU hall organized jointly by Sahitya Thoupang Lup and Mother language lover of the World, Manipur Chapter, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Th. Lokeshwor attended as the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion Th. Lokeshwor highlighted the importance of observing the day saying that language is the asset of our nation.
The day is also observed at Kuki Inpi , JN Dance Aademi and other places.
Manipuri Meitei Association Bangalore (MMAB) has also observed International Mother Language day at Viveknagar post office.
After the celebration, Executive members of MMAB and volunteers hold a meeting in connection with the forthcoming Yaosang festival.
