Integrated Voter Education Programme at Mangolnganbi College

A One day integrated Communication and Outreach Programme(ICOP) was organized at Mangolnganbi College in Ningthoukhong, in a bid to bolster electoral participation and awareness, focusing on Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
Chaired by Kh. Nolini Devi, Head of Department of Economics, L. Guni Devi, Head of Department of Political Science, and Asem Chanu Vellorpati, Head of Department of Botany as presidium members, the event was participated by both faculty and students.
L. Guni Devi, attending the program as a resource person, shed light on the pivotal role of the presiding officer at polling booths during elections, imparting valuable insights to first-time voters. Key topics discussed included ethical voting practices, Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), and the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) system.
The programme also featured an on-the-spot quiz contest, with prizes and certificates awarded to the victorious participants. Attendees were also presented with certificates of participation.
A cultural performance by the private registered troupe of CBC, RO, Imphal, M/s MIREL of Uripok, captivated the audience, further enhancing the outreach and impact of the initiative.
