A deer that was being chased by a dog and ran into a residential area was rescued and handed over to the Forest Department by Naorem Dhiren, a resident of Kakching Makha Rou, Sekmai Ningthou Pareng in Kakching district.
The incident occurred when the frightened deer entered the residence of Naorem Dhiren while being chased by a dog. Dhiren managed to safely capture the animal and promptly informed the Forest Department.
Acting on the instructions of Dr. L. Jeeceelee, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Thoubal Forest Division, a team of forest personnel led by Range Officer Sundar Huidrom from Kakching Forest Range arrived at the location and took custody of the deer.
The deer, which had sustained minor injuries due to the dog attack, was given immediate treatment by the forest team. Later, under the directive of Wildlife Warden W. Ramchandra along with Kakching Forest Range staff, the rescued animal was handed over to Iroisemba Zoo.
