Indian Army awarded Maj Bob Khating, MC, MBE Scholarship to 38 youngsters in Manipur Under Op Sadbhavna

To commemorate legendary Maj Bob Khating, the hero of Manipur, a scholarship project under Op Sadbhavna was organised by Red Shield Division of Spear Corps.
With a singular aim of according due recognition and extend assistance to the meritorious students and sports persons, Red Shield Division under Op Sadbhavna presented sports kits, stationary and scholarship in a ceremony organised at Brilliance School, Changangei, Imphal West, Manipur.
In all, 24 students and 14 sports persons from Manipur were rewarded based on their performance. Major General VT Mathew GOC Red Shield Division, felicitated the achievers and exhorted upon them to continue their quest towards peace and prosperity in the region. He congratulated the scholarship awardees and encouraged them for continued pursuit for excellence.
Lt Gen KH Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) and Lt Gen LN Singh, VSM* (Retd), also graced the occasion with their presence and enlightened the gathering by sharing their pearls of wisdom.
The scholarship and stationary/ sports items under the overall budget of Maj Bob Khating Scholarship project worth Rupees Fifteen Lakhs, were distributed amongst the recipients.
