Vehicular traffic along Imphal-Moreh route has been seriously affected since the last two days after transporters body of the route had started the indefinite blockade since Wednesday morning. The JAC of Imphal-Moreh Transporters’ Association had already announced the indefinite blockade on August 22 if the government failed to compensate the vehicles vandalize during the August 18 Moreh rally by August 25.
Around 24 passenger service vehicles were vandalize by anti social activists during the clash at Moreh between Pro-ILP supporters and some individuals of a particular community.
Report said that volunteers of the Imphal-Moreh Road Transporters Association prevented all vehicles coming from Moreh or going towards Moreh at Kakching Lamkhai since August 26 morning. On the day those vehicles coming from Moreh were allowed by taking some fines. But later, that is since yesterday, the volunteers had prevented all traffic along the route at Pallel Lamkhai under Kakching Police Station.
