Indefinite bandh by Seijang Development Committee affect normal traffic at Imphal-Ukhrul road

Indefinite bandh called by Seijang Development Committee in protest against government inaction towards the illegal occupation of a disputed land in Imphal East by villagers of Silent village has severely affect normal traffic along Imphal- Ukhrul road. Bandh supporters today vandalized 3 four wheeler vehicles including one coming from Ukhrul towards Imphal at around 7 am today. The Seijang Development Committee has been demanding appropriate action against all those responsible for creating graveyard of the head of Silent Village inside the premises of the disputed land at Uyok Ching.Speaking to media persons, president of the Siejang Development Committee Ng. Bhimo said that the committee had talk with the Chief Minister of Manipur on November 3 at the later office and agreed to fufill five point agreement put up by the committee within 5 days. Local MLA of the region MLA Ksh. Biren, MLA RK Anand, ML K Ranjit and MLA N Biren were also present during the talk. The five point agreed to implement are arrest of the persons involved in cremating of Silent Village Chief inside the premises of the disputed land at Uyok Ching, to shift the VDF post inbetween the two village, that is between Seijang and Silent Village, to dismantle the houses constructed inside the territory of the disputed land and to dig out the dead body as well as conducting an enquiry over the incident.Bhimo said as the government fail to take up any action, the Seijan Development Committee left no option but to call the indefinite bandh. He further said that the government has not shown any relevant document which may prove the suspension of the two SI personnel of the state police department.Later, the members of the Seijang Development Committee burnt the effigy of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and SP Imphal East.
