Indefinite bandh begins at Imphal-Ukhrul road; 4 vehicles vandalised

Normal traffic along Imphal Ukhrul road has been put to a complete halt as JAC against Anti-Social Activities to Gwaltabi Village by Thawai Villagers called indefinite bandh along the route since early morning today. The indefinite bandh is being called in protest against the state government failure to implement the agreement reached between the JAC and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.
Hundreds of bandh supporters today came out to Imphal-Ukhrul road at Gwaltabi area under Lamlai Police station and blocked all sorts of vehicular movement along the route.
At least, 4 vehicles including a school bus service were vandalized by bandh supporters at Nongada area. Our reporter witness bandh supporters burning tyres and planks on the middle of the road at Gwaltabi area. At Nongada and Seijang area bandh supporters came out and stopped all sort of vehicular movement along the Imphal Ukhrul road.
The school bus bearing registration number MN01 1738 vandalized by the bandh supporters today belongs to Emmanuel English school, Yaingangpokpi. School authority condemn the act of the bandh supporters which attack the bus even after knowing that there were students inside it. 
Almost all schools and colleges remain close due to the general strike, shops and business establishments were also totally shuts due to the bandh.
