Importance of preserving wildlife stressed on Wildlife Weeks celebration

Rural development and Panchayati Raj Minister Francis Ngajokpa today calls on the people of the state to protect the wild life of the state. Speaking during the closing function of the 59th Wildlife week celebration organised by Forest department, govt. of Manipur at GM Hall today Ngajokpa said that wild life are the part of our environment and it is our duty to protect the environment by preserving the wildlife. On the occasion  prizes were also distributed to all the winners of state level drawing, article writing, wildlife photography competition and wildlife protection award incentive.Attending the function as Chief Guest, Francis Ngajokpa, further said that preserving wildlife animals is very important to save the global environment. He said that human beings kill wildlife to earn quick money or as hobby or to eat them without knowing the importance of their presence. Animals might not know how to express their feelings or gestures but no human can beat their natural beauty. He added that we shall all realised how important is their presence in the environment and start preserving them. He congratulated to the winners and all the participants of the wildlife week celebration for their contribution towards saving wildlife animals.Among the state wildlife protection incentive award winners People for Animal (PFA), Thoubal for its wonderful job in protection of wildlife animal received cash award of Rs. 10,000, Environmental Reformation and Sangai Protection Forum, Keibul and Unique Wildlife Protection committee, Sekmaijin received Rs. 4000 each, the volunteers, Langol and Laishram Shamungou Singh, Staff reporter, Sangai Express received Rs. 1000 each. Inspector, MA Salam, OC, Churachandpur PS, Sub Inspector, Thoudam Churachand Singh, Sugnu PS and havildar, Ningombam Lolil, 3rd IRB also received the state wildlife protection incentive award with a citation for their contribution towards saving wildlife animals.
