Imphal, Dec 16: JAC of Peace and Development Co-ordinating Committee Khundrakpam had begun the indifinite blockade at Imphal Saikul road from Pangei area to Sagolmang against the government failure to construct the road stretch.
The JAC had earlier served ultimatum to the government to either cancel the work order alloted to four firms for construction of the road stretch or start construction of the road stretch on or before December 15. As the government failed to response to the demand of the JAC large number of people came out at the road at Pangei and Sagolmang area enforcing the total shut down of the road stretch from early morning today.
the JAC earlier had stated that due to the deteriorating road condition some lives had been lost due to tragic road accident.
