Imphal, Sept 13:
A team of Imphal East police consisting of SI Lolindro of CDO IE, SI Khalilur Rahaman of CDO/IE, SI N. Jhaljit Singh of Heingang -PS and SI Shabeer Ahmed of Heingang-PS seized a huge amount of illegal drugs at Khabeisoi Saban Leikai from the house of one Meinam Abul Kalam(35 years) son of Meinam Abdul Salam of Kwakta Pangal Lamkhai.
The police team, in the presence of executive magistrate and independent civil witnesses, the body, belongings, and house of the said person searched and seized a huge number of narcotics items from the toilet of the house of the said at 3.30 pm. The seized items include 38, 016 (thirty-eight thousand and sixteen) Span PRX tablets, 15,840(fifteen thousand eight hundred forty) numbers of Semplx tablets, 3000 ( three thousand) numbers of Netaks tablets, and 79 (seventy-nine) numbers of Codeine cough syrup bottles.
The detainee Meinam Abdul Kalam was arrested at 3.50 pm following due formalities.
The arrested person and the seized narcotics items have been handed over to Heingang PS for undertaking further legal procedures.
