Imphal College Students voice concerns over faculty shortages

IT News
Imphal, July 29:

Students of Imphal College are raising alarms over a critical shortage of faculty. Pukhrambam Ranajit Singh, spokesperson for the student body, addressed the media, highlighting the issue. Ranajit revealed that the Director of Education (U) had previously ordered the assignment of two teachers to the college, but these teachers have not yet assumed their roles. Alarmingly, the order was subsequently canceled without explanation.
The students have been proactive in their response, submitting memorandums to the relevant authorities on March 21. Despite their efforts, it has now been four months without any clarification or action from the Education Minister, Commissioner, or Director of Higher and Technical Education. The prolonged silence and inaction have exacerbated the students’ concerns.
Ranajit emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the students are demanding the immediate deployment of the designated teachers to alleviate the faculty shortage and ensure the continuation of their education without further disruption. The student body hopes for a swift resolution to this pressing issue, urging the authorities to act promptly.
