Imparting trainings for a better Manipur: State Academy of Training

Imphal, Aug. 2: State Academy of Training, Manipur, the State Apex Institute as per the State Training Policy 2013, besides imparting trainings to the employees of the Government, public sector undertakings, local bodies, representatives of voluntary organisations and common people, has been providing incentives of Rs one lakh each to the Manipuris who have passed UPSC combined civil services preliminary examination and mains examination, Indian Forest Service, National Defence Academy, Naval Academy and combined defence service examination to encourage the youths in the state and to excel in the said examinations since 2012.
Speaking to media persons during the interaction programme held at DIPR the official of the State Academy of Training Manipur said that under the incentive schemes the state academy of training has so far provided Rs one lakh each to more than 150 candidates who passed the preliminary round of UPSC exam, 54 candidate who got IAS, 58 of CDS, 67 nos. of NDA and 2 nos. of IFS. However the payments of those applicants for the year 2016-17 are under process.
He further added that for the current year Rs 51 lakh have been sanctioned for the same number of beneficiaries.
The official further said in the year 2013-2014 another new scheme to provide laptop computers to the successful candidates of combined state services examinations was also introduced and the laptops were distributed to the deserving candidates.
