“Impact of Social Media” course conducted at Noney

The State Institute of Journalism, DIPR, Manipur inaugurated a two weeks short term course on ‘Impact of Social Media’ at Jadonang Memorial College, Longmai, Noney on Monday.  Hungyo Worshang, IAS DC, Noney District was the chief guest of the inaugural function.  
H. Balkrisna Singh, Director, DIPR, Manipur was the President of the function. Shri Ramkung Pamei, President, Manipur Hills Journalists’ Union and  Khuigai Kahmei, Principal, Jadonang Memorial College were the Guests of Honour.
Hungyo Worshang said the subject matter of the course conducted by DIPR is very relevant in today’s world as misuse of Social Media can cause unrest in the society. “As human beings, we have the tendency to believe bad things”, he said.
H. Balkrisna Singh, said that he had certain inhibitions when planning to conduct such a course in a new district. However, he said he was happy to see a large number of youths who have applied for the two weeks course.
W. Phajatombi Devi, Joint Director (IPR), Seema Sanjenbam, Course Co-Ordinator, SIJ, Sagolsem Snehprabha, Manager of Publication and other staff of DIPR also attended the function.
