IMD records moderate rainfall across Manipur on August 24

The Meteorological Centre, Imphal, has reported moderate rainfall activity across several districts of Manipur during the past 24 hours ending today, August 24, 2025. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), nine stations recorded rainfall, while many others remained largely dry.
The highest rainfall was recorded at Senapati (38.8 mm), followed by Bishnupur (34 mm) and Churachandpur (28.7 mm). Chandel also received 22.2 mm, while Tamenglong (10.2 mm), Thoubal (12.8 mm), and Ukhrul (5.3 mm) reported light showers. Imphal Airport registered only 1.4 mm of rainfall.
Other monitoring stations such as Moirang, Geljang Resort (Churachandpur), Jiribam, Kamjong, Khoupum (Noney), and Kakching reported no rainfall, while Moreh recorded 9.5 mm and Molnom in Ukhrul 2.5 mm.
The IMD classified the overall rainfall distribution in the state as “Fairly Widespread” (FWS), with moderate rainfall ranging between 7.6 mm and 64.4 mm per day. No heavy rainfall was reported from any station.
