Authorities of Imphal Municipal Council is focusing more in collecting money in furnishing Date of Birth Certificate than doing official works these days.
This reporter witnessed over 1000 parents or guardians came to the office to furnish Date of Birth Certificates for their children. Surprisingly IMC authorities were charging Rs 300 for each certificate which usually charged Rs 50 to Rs 100 at the maximum. It was also witnessed that while collecting the amounts the authorities could not supply the certificate till 7.30 evening even for personals who submitted their details at 10 am in the morning.
