Several members of the Indian Medical Association Manipur State Branch have brought home awards from the IMA NATCON 2021which was held in Patna on Dec. 27 and 28. The function was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.
Following are the list of members who brought pride not only to IMA State Branch but to the entire state of Manipur as they were able to win many accolades. Dr. Jugindra Sorokhaibam won IMA Jagdishwarari Mishra Oration Award on the topic Palliative Care-Genesis of Manipur Model. He was also awarded The Academic Entrepreneurship Excellence Award in IMA Headquarter, Delhi on 19th December, 2021. Dr. Rajendra Sinam, Past Honorary State Secretary, received IMA National President’s Appreciation Award for Lifelong services for his commendable work and contribution towards the state branch. Dr. Arunkumar Singh Ngangom, Honorary State Secretary received IMA National President’s Appreciation Award for Best IMA Project : ‘ Doctors on Pedals, Cycling Project (DOP)’ for his efforts towards achieving a greener environment and promoting a healthier lifestyle through his project. Dr. Nelson Loitongbam, Immediate Past Honorary State Secretary received IMA National President’s Appreciation Award. Dr. Ashangbam Vivekananda Singh, CWC Member also received IMA National President’ Appreciation Award. In addition to these, IMA Manipur State Branch was awarded IMA National President’s Appreciation award twice for IMA Membership Drive and for updation of Email and mobile numbers.
IMA Manipur State Branch was established in 1961 and it is one of the oldest IMA Branch in North Eastern India. For decades the association has been addressing on health issues of the state as well as on the welfare of Doctors in the state. It is encouraging that in recent times IMA Head Quarter has started recognizing the efforts made by a small state branch.
