ILP protests continued; CM effigy burnt

Imphal, June 4: Students of CC Higher Secondary School today staged peace rally at Wangkhei-Konung Mamang Road  demanding immediate release of the two students arrested by police without any condition. The 2 students were arrested while staging protest in connection with the agitation demanding implementation of ILPS in the state.
Speaking to the media persons, Moranthyel Saka, Finance Secretary of CC Higher Secondary School denounced the state govt. for arresting the student who are demanding ILPS in the state.  He demanded immediate released of the 2 student without conditions.
Saka also said that the student body of CC Higher Secondary School will continue their protest of class boycott until the concern authority release the students.
Different form of agitation will launch if the concern authority fails to fulfil their demands as soon as possible, he added.
Students of CC Higher Secondary School later burnt effigy of Okram Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur. They also sought slogans condemning capturing of students, demands immediate release of captured students and implement ILPS in the state.
The captured students have been identified as Bruce Pebam, General Secretary of CC Higher Secondary High School and Loitongbam Bidyalaxmi, former general secretary of Ibotonsana Girls’ High School. Both were captured in connection with the lock down of Directorate of Education U, last month and they are still under judicial custody.
