Imphal, April 17: IFCD, Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Shri Letpao Haokip and Social Welfare & Cooperation Minister Smt Nemcha Kipgen inspected different river banks within Kangpokpi District today.
The ministerial team accompanied by various officials of IFCD including Chief Engineer Shri Ksh. Pritam Singh and SE (FMC) Shri Md. Liaquat Ali inspected the Twineh river bank near Keithelmanbi Cemetery; Kanggui river bank, Kangpokpi, and Imphal river bank near KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi.
IFCD Minister Shri Letpao Haokip assured that his department would take up every possible step to improve the condition of the river banks and its areas. He also said that retaining wall along the river banks that pose serious threats to the residents of the surrounding areas will soon be constructed in consultation with the Chief Minister.
Local MLA and Social Welfare & Cooperation Minister Smt Nemcha Kipgen expressed optimism that the BJP-led state government will definitely fulfil the grievances of the people
