Former Chairman of the UNLF, RK Sanayaima, widely known as RK Meghen, expressed deep concerns today over the dire situation faced by the working-class population amidst the ongoing turmoil in Manipur. Speaking to the press, Sanayaima highlighted the severe risk the current conflict poses to the livelihoods of working-class citizens. His remarks coincided with the approaching May Day celebration, emphasizing the urgent need to address the hardships endured by the labor force in the region.
In reference to the ongoing crisis, the former rebel leader emphasized that a resolution can only be attained through unified efforts among the indigenous people of Manipur. “No other entity possesses the capacity to tackle the present issue; only the indigenous people have the capability to address it,” he asserted. Sanayaima underscored the critical importance of indigenous solidarity in navigating through the prevailing challenges faced by the region.
Moreover, he emphasized that the indigenous people are uniquely positioned to comprehend and resolve the issues plaguing Manipur. “We, the indigenous people of the region, hold the key to solving the problem; no external entity can offer a solution to the current crisis,” he stated emphatically. Sanayaima’s remarks underscore the imperative for indigenous unity and leadership in finding sustainable solutions to the multifaceted challenges confronting Manipur.
