Alleging government of working under the pressure of the Nagaland Students’ Federation, Imphal East district police Commando today begins their protest by staying away from duty with immediate effect. According to source the Police Commando of the Imphal East were not satisfied to the suspension of four Police Commandos including a sub inspector under pressure from a student body based in Nagaland.
A police commando, who does not want to reveal his identity had said that the attitude of the government is nothing but to encourage the activities of the NSF.
Earlier during the ongoing state assembly session Congress MLA N. Biren had raised the issue of demoralizing the Manipur police by not empowering them in hills district. During the demand discussion for passing of the demands for grants of Police, Biren had question the reason for sending a police officer at Nagaland to hold talk with the students’ body.
