ICOP sets to observe Puya Mei Thaba Day

International Observation Committee on Puya Mei Thaba (ICOP) is all set to observe Puya Mei Thaba Day (Burning of Meitei Manuscript) on January 13 at THAU ground and Kangla. In a press meet held today at THAU ground official of the ICOP said that the 286 Puya Mei Thaba Day will also be observed at Bangladesh, Canada, Taiwan and UK. He appealed the people of the state not to call bandh or blockade on the day.
He further said that the organisation will be observing black day observation from January 10 to January 12. A launching function of the observance will be held Standard Robert English School. Students of various schools will be earing black badge during the two days. Various organisation of the state like UKAL, MEELAL and MIKAL had also joined ICOP to observe the day.
